I’ve been busy since my last post and I noticed my blog has too, so I’ll address that issue first.
It’s great to see a bit of chat going on over the incident involving myself and Craig in Tassie on the blog and I appreciate all the comments. I do however find it funny and always will that people seem to put on different coloured glasses depending on which way or which side you are looking at an incident from. At the end of the day CAMS declared it a fair passing maneuver which is good enough for me.
Just ask Keira who was quick to jump to my defence – thanks.
Incidents with Craig seem to polarise people, which is interesting. My incident was a rub at the worst, but if you want to put it into perspective compared to others just remember the incident last year at Phillip Island with Craig and Rick Kelly and how that panned out, depending on your viewpoint.
Mark – Thanks for the comments on the blog, your best chance for a lap would be through a sponsor. I can’t just give them away unfortunately, but I like your site, the more support the series gets the better.
Anyway, as I said I have been busy. Char and I were invited by Shannon Noll to attend his gig on Friday night, I had a good time, and he actually sounds very good live. After that I got to attend HSV’s grow a mo comp as a judge. To say the top ‘taches put mine to shame would be an understatement!
The guy we voted the winner had a bit of a Blues Brothers look going on, complete with the suit and the mutton chops, while one of the top four was just plain hairy and could probably grow a decent mo very quickly. Unfortunately I couldn’t take photos.
I’ve also managed to score tickets to the Crusty Demons’ “Night of World Records” at Calder Park on March 29 next year; I’m stoked to be going and can’t wait.
Right now though I am focused on performing well at Phillip Island and given the pace we have had in recent weeks it shouldn’t be too hard. Based on last year I would like to be in the top six in qualifying. Even though I think Pole is out of reach somewhere there would be good and I could improve in the race.
I vividly remember being taken out early in race one last year when Jamie Whincup spun, narrowly missing his teammate and hitting me. I then came back from last to finish the final race in second, and want to be there then again this year. Hopefully with better luck I can be on the podium at the end of the weekend.
If I am up front I don’t want to negatively impact the leaders but I will not yield for them either. I am a race driver and am there to race.
I’ll get some practice in tomorrow night when Murph’ and I take on Jonesy and Simon Wills in a Kart race. It promises to be a cracker and also good practice for my upcoming four hour race.
My engineer and I have been working on our (Rotax) Max engine and are hoping to have it purring when the big four hour event comes around.
It’s been a big year and I can’t believe this is the last race, although the season hasn’t yielded all the results I wanted I will reflect back upon it next week in my blog.
See you at the Island - Jase

My weekend went from average to good to excellent over the course of the three races. In race two I could feel the car getting a lot better, and we had good speed and good pit stops. By race three everything was working well for us and we had the speed of the top teams.
